Today, It has arrived my new Ipod Shuffle (2nd generation) in aluminium grey.
This tiny music player looks rock-built and feels nice on the hand.
Most controversial of this device has been the lack of a screen; It is very understandable, since it is must be hard to find a specific song between another 239 files.
In my opinion, since I hardly use another play mode in my 80gb ipod than shuffle, this should not be a big inconvenience to me.
At the moment, I am filling the little grey apple with music using the option convert files to AAC 128kbps and it seems awfully slow to the task. Since the PC I am using has a rather adequate processor for the task (intel core duo T2400), I guess it is because the shuffle is very slow writing files...
About the device, itself, besides the color and size, it is remarkable the dependance from its dock, since it is required to transfer files to any computer, being a device this portable, it would be better if it had the plug on its body.
A big question is why I own now an ipod shuffle if I mentioned before I had an ipod video 80gb? Well, the answer is rather simple: I won it in an aid from Coca-Cola. It is definetely not a huge prize, but feels very good to win any small gadget this way.
